Kern River Campout

 August 28th - 30th, 2026

A yearly tradition and coming home to ourselves and our community. A celebration of floating through life together and all the adventures and unforgettable memories along the way.

Sponsored by

Weekend Overview

The Skate Hunnies Kern River Campout is an annual tradition and the perfect way to deepen new relationships or catch up with old friends. We will spend 2 days and 2 nights camping on the Kern River, dropping in together to re-connect, play, and spend quality time in nature. It will be a weekend full of activities, reflection, and celebration that will be a highlight of the summer :)

Special Programming

This campout was designed to celebrate us, to be centered in play, and to deepen our community bonds.

  • Classic camp-out fun: rock skippin', crawling out of the tent to the sounds of nature, cracking eggs in the morning sun, and eating fresh mango while you philosophize with friends.

  • Cold plunge mornings and river floating.

  • Campfire vibes (and s'mores, of course).

  • Wellness & intentional movement activities.

Accessibility: Creating accessible programming is at the core of what we do. We’ve worked hard to keep this campout at or below the standard cost for a weekend experience like this. Our hope is to make it as accessible as possible. If you deeply want to join but cost is a barrier, reach out. We’ll do our best to find a way to make it work. Also, 0% interest payment plans available over 8 weeks available through Afterpay.

What to Expect at the Campground

We picked one of our favorite Kern River campgrounds. Kern River's Edge will be good balance between just enough outdoorsy grit to make you feel like "I've made it to the wild," and comfortable enough that you don't need to call mom to come pick you up.

Here’s what we’ll have on site:

  • Deluxe bathrooms + hot showers

  • Potable water throughout the park

  • Picnic tables + fire pits at every campsite

  • Immediate river access-- like literally, right on the river

  • A shady grove to relax in right next to our sites

  • Soooo many lawn games for our competitive folks

  • A convenient campground store that sells river tubes, food, water, and all the essentials.

  • A change from last year: We will only have the three double sites and will not stay at Boulder Beach.
